Where to now?

I’m watching one of those ‘after’ things on TV. You know… after the war, after the disaster…after.

In general, I like these things but I also recognize a problem….Humans are STUPID! They don’t learn from the disasters, whether the disaster is man made or nature, they continue on ‘after’ just as before without learning from it.

As I’m watching this I’m thinking about the news: more people dying/suffering from attacks or natural disasters. And what do we do? Some folks donate money, some pray, some volunteer but most say it does not touch them personally and do nothing. So…do we just sit it out, whatever ‘it’ is? Do we hope it will continue to not affect us directly?

Also I had something pop up on my feed. The idea is – Stop following along in the same direction as anything that has caused you harm or that causes an effect that disturbs you.

Since I’m not directly affected by the ‘it’, I need to especially consider the later part of that statement – I find the effect disturbing of a lot of ‘it’ these days.

Well I don’t know what I intend to do about it but I can’t keep going in the same direction. I may need to put this short piece before me and read it everyday to help me remember: I need to find a new direction, a new path. If nothing else, a new way of thinking. I like to think I’m not one of the stupid humans who are willing to do nothing just because I am not personally harmed or in anyway affected. So Where to now? Want to come?
